ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the correlation between plasma inflammatory factors [IL-1β, IL-6, IL-10, IL-12, IL-17, IL-23, TNF-α, TGF-β, IFN-γ, C-reactive protein (CPR) CCL-5] and hand-foot syndrome in colorectal cancer patients after taking capecitabine. Methods 35 colorectal cancer patients treated with capecitabine were collected and the degree of severity was divided according to the hand-foot syndrome grading diagnostic criteria. The concentrations of inflammatory factors in plasma were determined by ELISA kits. Results The standard curve of all inflammatory cytokines were linear (r>0.9900), and plasma concentrations of inflammatory cytokines in patients with colorectal cancer were determined. The concentration of TNF-α changed obviously, which had reference value. Conclusion The concentrations of different inflammatory factors were different and the concentration of TNF-α was closely correlated with the severity of hand-foot syndrome.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo investigate the protective effect of Lycium barbarum polysaccharide (LBP) combined with aerobic exercise (AE) on the liver of rats with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) induced by high-fat diet based on the p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (p38 MAPK)-nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) pathway. MethodsAfter 1 week of adaptive feeding, 45 Sprague-Dawley rats, aged 8 weeks, were randomly divided into control group (10 rats fed with normal diet) and high-fat group (35 rats fed with high-fat diet). At the end of week 28, the high-fat group was randomly divided into model group, LBP group, AE group, and LBP+AE group, with 8 rats in each group, and intervention was performed for 10 weeks. At the end of the experiment, fasting blood glucose was measure for all rats, and serum samples, liver tissue, and visceral fat were collected. Biochemical kits were used to measure the serum levels of triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and aspartate aminotransferase (AST); ELISA kits were used to measure the serum levels of fasting insulin (FINS), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1); quantitative real-time PCR and Western blot were used to measure the mRNA and protein expression levels of Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4), p38 MAPK, and NF-κB in liver tissue. A one-way analysis of variance was used for comparison of continuous data between multiple groups, and the least significant difference t-test was used for further comparison between two groups. ResultsCompared with the control group, the model group had significant increases in TG, TC, AST, ALT, FINS, and homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) (all P <0.05), a tendency of increases in the serum levels of the inflammatory factors MCP-1, TNF-α, and IL-6 (all P <0.05), and significant increases in the mRNA and protein expression levels of TLR4, p38 MAPK, and NF-κB in liver tissue (all P <0.05). Compared with the model group, each intervention group had significant reductions in TG, TC, AST, ALT, FINS, and HOMA-IR (all P <0.05), a tendency of reductions in the serum levels of the inflammatory factors MCP-1, TNF-α, and IL-6 (all P <0.05), and significant reductions in the mRNA and protein expression levels of TLR4, p38 MAPK, and NF-κB (all P <0.05). Compared with LBP group, the LBP+AE group had significant reductions in TG, ALT, FINS, HOMA-IR, MCP-1, the mRNA expression level of TLR4, protein expression levels of p38 MAPK and NF-κB(all P<0.05). Compared with Ae group, the LBP+AE group had significant reductions in FINS, HOMA-IR, IL-6, MCP-1, the mRNA expression level of TLR4 (all P<0.05). ConclusionLBP combined with AE may improve inflammation in NASH rats by regulating the p38 MAPK/NF-κB pathway.

ABSTRACT

Objective To establish a method to determine 11 main components in Hanshi yufei decoction. Methods The method adopted UHPLC-MS/MS with an Agilent ZORBAX SB-C18 (3.5 μm,2.1 mm×150 mm) column. The mobile phase was consisted of 0.2% formic acid plus 10 mmol/L ammonium acetate aqueous solution(A) - acetonitrile(B) and gradient elution (0–0.6 min, 80%–40%A; 0.6–1 min, 40%–30%A; 1–4.3 min, 30%–5%A) at 0.3 ml/min. The column temperature was 40 ℃ and 11 main components including vanillic acid, magnolol, honokiol, wogonin, sophorin, 6-gingerol, citrinin, qianghuo alcohol, nobiletin, nodakenin, and hesperidin were quantified in a multiple reaction monitoring mode. The reserpine was the standard. Results The 11 main components in Hanshi Yufei decoction had a good linear relationship within their concentration range (r>0.98), and the average recovery was 93.11%~111.73%. Conclusion The UHPLC-MS/MS method established in this experiment is easy to operate and has good reproducibility, which provides a laboratory basis for the quality control of Hanshi Yufei decoction.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate therapeutic efficacy of strontium dichloride (89SrCl2 ) combined with local radiotherapy for pain caused by malignant tumor bone metastasis. METHODS:115 patients with malignant tumor complicated with bone metasta-sis were analyzed retrospectively, and they received therapy regimen of 89SrCl2 combined with local radiotherapy. The amount of 89SrCl2 was calculated according to body weight of patients, and given by intravenous injection manner at the beginning of treat-ment,and then radiotherapy target section was confirmed according to iconography for irradiation. Effect of bone pain control, side effects (myelosuppression) and the effect of treatment on quality of life were evaluated at the end of treatment. RESULTS:After one month of treatment, there were 32 cases of complete remission(CR)and 62 cases of partial remission(PR),and total effec-tive rate was 81.7%;after one month of treatment,6 cases(5.1%)suffered from Ⅲ-Ⅳ degree myelosuppression;but there was none of Ⅲ-Ⅳdegree myelosuppression case after 2 months of treatment. The improvement of overall quality of life was not signifi-cant after treatment. Pain symptoms, general situation and sleep quality all improved significantly. CONCLUSIONS:89SrCl2 com-bined with local radiotherapy can control pain caused by malignant tumor bone metastasis and induce side effect, and improve quali-ty of life to certain extent.

ABSTRACT

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings of 52 patients with septate uterus were retrospectively analyzed. There were 19 cases of complete septate uterus and 32 cases of partial septate uterus confirmed by hysteroscopy or hysteroscopy combined with laparoscopy, and 1 case without surgery.According to MRI findings,19 cases were diagnosed as complete septate uterus,32 cases as partial septate uterus and 1 case as intrauterine adhesion. The results indicated that MRIcan be used in diagnosis of septate uterus.
